Perineal massage cannot prevent all tears but massaging the perineum regularly from 34 weeks pregnant is associated with reduced risk of tears and ongoing pain after childbirth.
Massage this plant based oil into your perineum (the area between your vagina and bottom) 2-4 times a week for 5– 0 minutes from 34 weeks pregnant.
Do not use: if you have a vaginal infection, thrush or herpes
Left over oil can be used by adding a few drops of lavender or chamomile essential oil and added to your bath.
